testo 440 – Multifunction Measuring Instrument for Air Velocity and Indoor Air Quality Assessment

Use the testo 440 instrument in combination with high-quality probes for measuring air velocity and assessing indoor air quality (probes ordered separately). You can connect up to three probes simultaneously: a Bluetooth® probe, a wired probe, and a temperature probe with a Type K thermocouple connector. Automatic probe detection and clearly structured measurement menus make your daily work much easier.

All essential measurements with one device

Perform measurements quickly and easily: the instrument automatically detects the connected probe, eliminating the need to manually configure probe parameters. Clearly structured menus for measuring volumetric flow in ducts/air outlets, funnel measurements, turbulence degree, heating/cooling output, mold risk, and long-term measurements provide all the functionality you need for everyday tasks.

Wireless and compact

The universal handle can be connected to any probe head, allowing you to solve any measurement task while keeping your measurement kit compact and lightweight. The Bluetooth® handle makes your work significantly easier: the wireless connection allows data transmission over a distance of up to 20 meters. If Bluetooth® is not available, you can always use the wired handle.

Practical measurement management

The internal memory can store up to 7,500 measurement protocols, which can be viewed directly on the display or exported via USB to your PC for further analysis. The data is saved in CSV format, which can be opened with Excel, for example. With the optional BLUETOOTH®/IRDA printer, you can also print results directly on site.

Smart calibration concept for maximum accuracy

You can rely on accurate results with digital probes. To prepare for measurement, simply calibrate the probe head and attach it to the universal handle. The instrument can continue operating with other probes during this time.

• Use Ø 100 mm vane probes with testovent funnels and flow straighteners to measure supply and exhaust air at disc valves, grilles, and swirl diffusers
• Bluetooth® interface: use wireless velocity probes to make your work even more convenient. Start or stop measurements with a single button press on the handle
• Magnetic mount for easy attachment to metal surfaces (e.g. air ducts)

Long-term indoor air quality measurements

• Probes for CO₂, CO, temperature, and humidity measurements – available with Bluetooth® or fixed cable
• Easy setup: enter duration and interval for long-term measurement and monitor results throughout the day

Turbulence measurement and compliance with EN ISO 7730 / ASHRAE 55

• Achieve high accuracy even at low air velocities using the turbulence probe
• Automatic draft risk and turbulence degree determination in accordance with EN ISO 7730 / ASHRAE 55
• For long-term measurements (e.g., standard compliance), we recommend using a tripod for probe placement at the required height

Probes for cleanrooms and laboratories

• Special heated wire probe for air velocity measurement in fume hoods
• High-precision Ø 100 mm vane probe with a lower measurement limit of 0.1 m/s, ideal for laminar flow measurements in cleanrooms (available in Bluetooth® and cable versions)
• High-accuracy temperature/humidity probes (0636 9771 or 0636 9772) with ±(0.6% RH + 0.7% of mv) accuracy in the 0–90% RH range for cleanroom applications
